• Recognize and be familiar with initial steps in management of urgent neuro-ophthalmic conditions, including papilledema, giant cell arteritis, severe optic neuropathies and cranial neuropathies.
• Describe the conditions which must be considered in the differential diagnosis of common neuro-ophthalmic clinical presentations, including optic neuropathies and eye movement disorders and identify points of differentiation between them.
• Outline the current therapy for common neuro-ophthalmic conditions, including optic neuritis, arthritic ischemic optic neuropathy and idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
• Discuss the arguments for and against selected controversial proposals in neuro-ophthalmology, including management of Horner's syndrome, radiation optic neuropathy, neuromyelitis optica, thyroid orbitopathy and myasthenia gravis.
