What is Call4Abstracts™?
You may already be familiar with Call4Abstracts™ as one of the most well-known and respected web-based abstract management systems. Call4Abstracts™ Version 10.0 offers a unique approach to the entire workflow process for your abstracts, giving you an even better solution that will fit your needs and budget.

Call4Abstracts™ is a complete solution from abstract submission to publication. There are now seven software modules, and you choose what best suits your needs and how you want to manage the process. Or, we can manage it for you.

These seven modules are available within three levels of service:

Elite: For the client who wants complete outsourcing. Marathon handles everything, including all end-user support. We take the worry out of your hands and work with you to design, build, and manage the entire process.

Pro: For the client who wants more control and desires to perform most of the abstract management process and work. We give you exclusive access to a dedicated system where you design, build, and manage your own abstract management workflows and processes.

Express: For the client that demands superior technology on a budget. We have developed a quick and easy solution for those who want a professional system, but may have fewer abstracts or simpler processes.

What are the Call4Abstracts™ Workflow Modules?
The new Call4Abstracts™ consists of seven modules. They offer you the flexibility to be able to manage your own system from start to finish. If you elect to manage the process on your own (our “Pro” service level), then the modules below offer you a myriad of options to allow you to organize and manage your abstracts.

Build It Your Way™ - Configuration Module
The tools and templates that allow you to:

  • Configure and customize your submission, grading, and session assignment processes
  • Create, edit, and customize your webpages and workflows
  • Allocate roles and access rights to different types of users
  • Modify specifications, forms, set-ups, and rules at anytime, in real-time
  • Store updates from any module in a dynamic central database, wih updates immediately reflected in all other modules
  • Watch your site evolve in real-time!


Call4Abstracts™ - Submission Module

Use the Build It Your Way™ capability to create a submission site that allows you to:

  • Select from a wide range of options and templates, or use the customization capability to create your own components
  • Upload a banner image to retain the same look and feel of your meeting website
  • Write and edit your own instructions, rules, etc.
  • Use our special character functionality to ensure compatibility with print outputs
  • Opt for images and tables as required, including multiple level tables


Call4Abstracts™ - Review Module

Use the Build It Your Way™ capability to create a review site that allows you to:

  • Select blinded or unblinded grading
  • Select your own preferred scoring preferences
  • Use opt-in or opt-out for reviewers with conflicts
  • Easily monitor the review process in real-time, making sure reviewers are keeping up with grading
  • Conveniently perform online and/or offline grading
  • Track status reports online, including “All Scores” reporting


Call4Abstracts™ Session Assignment Module
Use the Build It Your Way™ capability to:

  • Build your full meeting online, with integrated abstract data and grades, saving hours of manual assignment
  • Determine your own session types, and allocate and schedule sessions
  • Use the moderator sections to select and allocate moderators
  • Create your own meeting planner in a graphical grid format, and manage/modify the sessions in an easy way
  • Easily assign abstracts, presentations, and sessions to dates, times, and rooms using our flexible drag and drop functionality
  • Assign color coding allows you to easily check for a balanced meeting, and helps to identify and manage conflicts
  • Import Invited Speakers as required


Call4Abstracts™ - Notification Module
Use the Build It Your Way™ capability to:

  • Build all your abstract management process notifications, including emails, letters, etc.
  • Customize email communications to any role: Submitters, reviewers, chairs, committee members, moderators, invited speakers, members, staff, etc.
  • Insert actionable functionality within email: invitations, recommendations, acceptance, rejection, speaker information, notification letters, etc.
  • Control when, where, and what communication takes place

Call4Abstracts™ - Administration Module
The administration module allows you to:

  • Track numerous standard reports, plus custom reports (if needed), in real-time
  • Export data to Microsoft Excel or Access
  • Easily search for abstract data for customer service purposes

The publication module allows you to:
  • Create page layouts for stand-alone or supplemental publications
