  2. Information Automatically Collected and Stored
For site management and statistical purposes, we collect information through standard web logs. These web logs may include (but are not limited to) the domain name or IP address from which you connect to our site, the date and time you access the site, search terms, and the pages visited. We make periodic checks of the types of browsers/operating systems used and of the pages from which you direct-link to our site. We regularly delete raw data logs from the system. We create summary statistics from the Web logs in order to measure the number of visitors to the various sections of our site and to help make the site more useful, and to improve performance.

    • Domain Name
The Call4Abstracts™ and Call4Posters® do recognize the domain name from which you contact us, and we maintain aggregate information (not personally identifiable information) on the pages that visitors access.

    • Cookies
A "cookie" is information stored on your computer by a web server and used to customize your web service in some way. They may also be used for selected registration forms to make your return visits to our site a more customized experience.

    • Registration and Order Forms
Visitors need not register in order to visit our company web site and access information about the company. Some specific pages may require registration. Except as presented under Use of Information below, user-specific information volunteered by you when requesting information and product demonstrations is archived for marketing and sales internal use only.

Should you provide us with contact information in response to survey questions, you will receive mailings or telephone calls only in response to your specific inquiry, or, if applicable, in the event that you have been selected to receive a prize. Web site surveys are used to schedule improvements, corrections or additions to the corporate site. Responses to product-related surveys are used to improve our products and services.

Some of our sites may use an order form that allows you to pay for products and/or services using a credit card. Information collected from visitors who pay for a product or service is primarily used for authentication and billing purposes. You may also opt-in to receive notifications about changes to the site, new Marathon Multimedia products and services, and special Marathon Multimedia offers we think you may find valuable.

  3. Use of Information
General information gathered through the Marathon Multimedia Web site is used by Marathon Multimedia for internal purposes only to improve the content of our web pages and your navigation through our site. This data is not shared with organizations that are not affiliated with us. Marathon Multimedia may share registration data with our parent company and affiliates that are committed to serving your needs. To the extent that these entities are given access to your information, they will treat it at least as protectively as they treat information they obtain from their own users.

Our parent company and affiliates maintain publicly available Privacy Policies; use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of individuals; and agree not to share, sell, or allow access to or otherwise make available Marathon Multimedia customer information without Marathon Multimedia's permission. Should we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post all changes on this page so that you are always kept aware of how we use any information you provide to us.

  4. Updating Your Information
You can always contact us in order to (1) delete your Personal Information from our systems, (2) update the Personal Information that you have provided to us, and (3) change your preferences or unsubscribe with respect to marketing contacts or other activities, by emailing us at WebMaster at Marathon Multimedia. Such changes will not have any effect on other information that Marathon Multimedia maintains.

If you have a complaint or technical problem click here to contact us and the customer service department will forward your complaint to the appropriate internal Marathon Multimedia department for a response or resolution.

We try to answer every email in a timely manner but are not always able to do so. You should be aware that it is not technologically possible to remove each and every record of the information you have provided to Marathon Multimedia from our servers. The need to back-up our systems to protect information from inadvertent loss means that a copy of your Personal Information may exist in a non-erasable form that will be difficult or impossible for us to locate. Nevertheless, we promise that upon receiving your request, all personal information stored in the databases we actively use for research and daily business activities, and other readily searchable media, will be deleted.

Privacy as it applies to the Internet is a dynamic, rapidly developing area. In the future, we may make significant changes to our privacy policy affecting the use of the Personal Information we collect. We will notify you by email of any significant changes concerning our use of your Personal Information and obtain your "opt-in" consent to any significant new uses of your personal Information if it was collected from you prior to a significant change in this policy. We may also make non-significant changes to our Privacy Policy that generally will not affect our use of your Personal Information and we generally will not notify you of these non-significant changes. You should check this posted Privacy Policy for any non-significant changes. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy or any revised policy, please exit the site immediately.

  5. Additional Forms and Emails
We may also ask you to provide additional information after you register if you want to obtain additional services or information or to resolve complaints or concerns. Some services (e.g. submission programs) may require that we use your contact email to remind you of upcoming events (e.g. deadlines).

If you choose to provide us with additional information about yourself through an e-mail message, form, survey, etc., we will only maintain the information as long as needed to respond to your question or to fulfill the stated purpose of the communication.

  6. Marketing and Advertising
We may target our advertising or marketing depending on information we have about you. For example, a user we know is an Oncologist may receive advertising for products or services targeted at Oncology that a healthcare professional in a different therapeutic area will not see (although the advertiser will not have access to any individually identifiable information about you).

We may also personalize our web site based on your interests. For example, you may see different articles in different places on our web site based on information you have shared with us, or information we have gained by observing your previous behavior, or information we may have gained from your interactions with a third party that shares information with us. We use information for our own internal marketing, research, and related purposes.

  7. Business Transfers
If we transfer a business unit (such as a subsidiary) or an asset (such as a web site) to another company, we will require them to honor the applicable terms of this privacy policy.

  8. Legal Requirements
We may release account and other personal information when we believe release is required to comply with law.
