-
Select the Advanced Search link from the navigation bar.
-
On the Advanced Search page, type the word(s) or phrase(s) you want to find in each search criteria text box. You may also use an "*" at the end of a word to perform a wild card search.
-
In the "In:" field, select the part of the abstract to search, such as the Title. If you wish to search all available fields select All from the drop-down list.
-
If you have more than one statement in your search criteria, use the Boolean phrase list. In the Boolean phrase list, select the statement that best suits what you want to find. (See examples below)
-
Results for a search on "brain" in title AND "heart" in body
Returns all abstracts containing the word "brain" in the title and must also contain the word "heart" in the body of these same abstracts.
-
Results for a search on "brain" in title AND NOT "heart" in body
Returns all abstracts containing the word "brain" in the title but only if the word "heart" does not appear in the body of the abstract.
-
Results for a search on "category" in ALL AND "Cerebrovascular Disease" in ALL
Returns all abstracts containing the word "category" and the word "Cerebrovascular Disease" in any field.
-
Results for a search on "subcategory" in ALL AND "Neuropsychiatry" in body
Returns all abstracts containing the word "subcategory" and the word "Neuropsychiatry" in the body of these abstracts.
-
Select the Search button, once you have completely entered the search criteria. If you would like to clear the contents of the window for a new search, select the Reset Search button.
