Training On-line
Training on-line offers new opportunities to enhance education activities and a time and place convenient to the learner. To date, two self assessment tools have been approved for EHA-CME accreditation, Haematologica/The Hematology Journal and European Hematology Association Training on-line. The CME program for Haematologica/The Hematology Journal is currently available through the journal's website and will be fully linked to the EHA-CME System in 2007.
EHATol was developed according to the standards and guidelines of the European Council for Accreditation in Hematology (ECAH) now called the EHA-CME Unit. Its platform and contents have been submitted to technological and scientific peer-review. It was supported by a European Commission Leonardo da Vinci contract (EUR/02/C/F/PP-84703 Agreement number: 2002 - 4518 / 001 - 001, Contracting period: 01/12/2002 - 30/11/2004, Title: " European Education, Training, and Accreditation in Hematology on-line, Contractor: European Hematology Association")
The original EHATol platform was developed in partnership with EHA, the European School of
Hematology, ReCAMH of the Catholic University of Rome, Fundacio de l''Escola d'Hematologia “Farreras Vanenti” in Barcelona,
the Dipartimento di Biothecnolgie ed Ematologia in Rome, Nergal SRL, and Luiss Guido Carli CeRSI. Professor D'Atri of Luiss Guido was instrumental in applying for Health-on-line (HON) certification. EHATol has been awarded Health-on-line (HON) certification according to the HON rules
EHATol was designed to provide a readily accessible and constantly updated environment for training, education and CME for scientists and clinicians involved in the field of hematology. It is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) - based platform which currently offers clinical cases, an on-line self-assessment system.
